1985
"Werkverzeichnis der Gemälde, Radierungen und Zeichnungen von Adam Elsheimer" (Catalogue of Paintings, Etchings and Drawings by
Adam Elsheimer) marks Schirmer/Mosel's expansion into the field of classic visual arts. Further major editions on significant
photographers are the monographs of portraits by Gisèle Freund and Henri Cartier-Bresson. With a collection of 18 books
Schirmer/Mosel launches its activities in France.
1987
"Helmut Newton - Portraits", with a foreword by Klaus Honnef, marks the first peak in the collaboration with Helmut Newton and
is available in 12 books.
1988
This year's production consists of 28 new books, among them two major publications accompanying the "Joseph Beuys Retrospective",
"Wassertürme" (Water Towers) by Bernd and Hilla Becher, as well as the Schirmer/Mosel book "Yves Saint Laurent und die
Modephotographie" (Yves Saint Laurent and Fashion Photography), produced as an international coproduction.
"Schirmer's Visual Library" starts, an inexpensive paperback series introducing - in original quality - the monographic work of
major photographers to young audiences.

At the 150th anniversary of photography, the German edition of the famous book "Preisen will ich die großen Männer" by James
Agee and Walker Evans appears as the epochal document of the art of photography applied to the study of the human society. In
the field of antique arts, the opulent new edition of "Basilius Besler - Der Garten von Eichstätt" (Basilius Besler - The
Eichstätt Gardens), originally published in 1613, appears, along with an anniversary portfolio of 15 selected photographers
celebrating the 15th anniversary of Schirmer/Mosel Publishers
1990
"Joseph Beuys - Block Beuys", with photographs by Claudio Abate, is the unique documentation of a work group installed in one of
